What is a Supalite Tiled Conservatory Roof?
For homeowners in Surrey contemplating a conservatory revamp or modernisation, a key aspiration is to create a living space that remains inviting and comfortable throughout the four seasons. Making the shift to a tiled conservatory roof is a pivotal step towards this, and the Supalite system stands as a beacon in this transformational journey.
The Supalite tiled conservatory roof is a ground-breaking solution, metamorphosing the conventional glass or polycarbonate conservatory roofs into an environment marked by superior insulation and heightened energy efficiency. Crafted with unique conservatory roof tiles, this system not only rejuvenates the visual elegance of your conservatory but also amplifies its thermal dynamics to noteworthy levels.
Advantages of a Supalite Tiled Roof Include:
- Year-Round Comfort: A primary motivation for Surrey homeowners opting for a Supalite tiled roof is the promise of a consistently ambient conservatory space. Whether warding off winter's chill or summer's heat, a Supalite roof guarantees a conservatory that's inviting every day of the year.
- Energy Efficiency: Transitioning from a glass or polycarbonate conservatory roof to Supalite's meticulously crafted tiles can make a marked difference in energy consumption. As energy costs continue to climb, investing in a Supalite tiled roof is a step towards keeping those bills in check.
- Durability: Tiled roofs, especially those from Supalite, are renowned for their resilience. Unlike traditional glass, these roofs are built to endure, ensuring that homeowners enjoy decades of unwavering service.
- Noise Reduction: Beyond temperature regulation, a Supalite tiled roof also offers a sanctuary from external noise. This feature is particularly noticeable—and appreciated—during rain showers when the gentle pitter-patter is subdued, making your conservatory a haven of tranquillity.
- Diverse Aesthetics: Embracing a Supalite tiled roof doesn't mean sidelining style. With a vast array of finishes and design options at your disposal, you can rest assured that your conservatory not only functions optimally but also complements the aesthetic essence of your Surrey home.

Supalite Tiled Conservatory Roof FAQs
A tiled conservatory roof replaces the traditional glass or polycarbonate roofs with specially designed conservatory roof tiles, providing better insulation and a more aesthetically pleasing appearance.
Here is the simple process that we follow:
- We first check the existing roof to make sure the frame is square before installing the eaves beam. We prep the eaves beam before this with the under clad soffit. Special bolts slide into the beam before we secure the corner joints. Multi-angle cleats keep the eaves joints together and secure.
- We prepare the rafters by sliding cleats and bolts onto the slots provided. Wall plates are fixed on either side of the ridge plate. The valley attaches to the wall and ridge plates, we then attach the rafters to the eaves when in place.
- We slide bolts onto the hip and attach them to the multi-angle ridge bracket, making sure the hip points towards the centre of the jack ridge. We slide the cleats onto both sides of the hip securing the underside of the jack rafters. Our installer repeats these steps until all rafters are secure.
- After this we place the guttering and fascias to the box cutter using the provided box cutter bracket. We use waterproof tape and a sealant on the box cutter to ensure we have a tight seal to make it easier to fit.
- We install the insulation externally to secure the labelled plywood to the guttering and rafters. We then install a waterproof membrane and the eaves.
- Next we install vertical battens to ensure constant airflow between the tiles and the plywood to prevent condensation. We add the metal tiles starter cleat; we then attach the barge soaker to the battening with a high quality adhesive.
- We place the tiles on your solid conservatory roof replacement, making sure to secure and position them over the soaker. We lock the first row of tiles into the starter cleat. We ensure the tiles are interlocked by installing them from right to left.
- When the tiles have all been placed we hang the barge over the soaker, screwing the barge onto the fascia board. We add battens to the roof so that we can fix the ridge caps.
- Finally we can finish the inside by using aluminium foil to close any gaps in the insulation and adding horizontal battens. We install insulated plaster board which we then skim and paint to complete the ceiling.
